Allegoria del giorno è un ciclo di sculture che registra un lasso di tempo specifico, attraverso il peso dell’acqua ingerita.
Ventiquattro ore, un pomeriggio, un weekend, diventano il pretesto per misurare l’oscillazione di peso che il corpo umano subisce ogni giorno. I due/tre litri di acqua diventano due/tre chili di argilla cruda.
Citare quella specifica quantità, edificarne un piccolo monumento, quasi in una celebrazione laica, diventa l’alibi per ingannare la transitorietà del mondo. Nel titolo è espressa la massa persa durante la cottura.
“Allegory of the day” is a cycle of sculptures that records a specific amount of time through the weight of consumed water. Twenty-four hours, an afternoon, a weekend, become a pretext to measure the weight oscillation that the human body undergoes every day. The two to three liters of water become two to three kilograms of raw clay.
By citing that specific quantity and building a small monument to it, almost in a secular celebration, it becomes an excuse to deceive the transience of the world. The title expresses the mass lost during firing.
